Nineteenth Century American Literature on Microcards

About

Consists of important American books of the nineteenth century that are not readily available in the original or in good modern reprints. The major emphasis is on literary works, but related materials of significance for the history of American 19th century culture are included. There are three series: The Ohio Valley (A), the South (B) and the Transmississippi West (C). The University Libraries own the Ohio Valley and South sets. While we do not hold the Transmississippi West collection, many of the same titles can be found in the Western Americana microfilm collection.

Arrangement

Each title has been classed under the Dewey Decimal system. It is necessary to use the index listed below to find specific works. Because the Dewey Decimal call numbers are only the first part of the call number, be sure to note the author's name, as many microcards, including entries from other Collection, fall within each Dewey number.
