ACS Audio Recording Studio Overview

On the right is a black upright piano with a cream colored chair with black then legs in front of it. In the center of the picture is the tan wooden door into the studio. to the right of the door, in the center of the wall is the window into the control room. A black standing speaker is stationed on the right and on the left of the window facing into the studio. In front of the window is a microphone stand with a mic and a pair of headphones resting on top. On the floor of the studio is a large blue rug.

The AR Creation Studios (ACS) Audio Recording Studio is a user-friendly semiprofessional-grade space that can support novice and expert users alike. No prior knowledge or specific background is required to use the studio, just a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn and create!

This multipurpose recording space empowers users to produce a variety of audio recordings, including audio recording of text (like an audiobook for example), ensemble performances, solo performances or auditions, choirs, bands, or even potential voiceover work. Let your imagination run!

As a hands-on learning educational space, patrons will be responsible for producing and managing their own recordings. ACS staff can certainly help with staging equipment and getting patrons going in the studios, but staff will not facilitate or run patron recording sessions. For patrons who may not know how to do something, ACS staff are happy to show them how or learn alongside them to help projects become reality!

As part of the Experiential Learning department's AR Creation Studios, the audio recording studio is co-located near other ACS creative technology spaces within the "ARK" on Level 2. This thoughtful design emphasizes Mullins Library's commitment to supporting the collaborative, interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and research occurring on the University of Arkansas campus.
