ACS Audio Recording Studio

This guide aims to assist patrons of all skill levels in their objective of using the space and equipment to make professional audio recordings. It goes over principles and techniques of production, as well as workflows for a successful recording.

Control Room & Recording Studio

The control room and recording studio work together to create a professional space for music and audio production.

Control Room

The picture shows a table with an iMac in the center, audio mixer on the left, and another audio production piece of equipment on the right. The table as two chairs in front of it and a speaker on a stand one either side. The control room table is in front of a window that looks into the audio recording studio

The control room is the command center for both the music and video recording studios. It includes a QSC TouchMix-30 Pro mixer, a 2025 iMac with popular recording software, QSC loudspeaker monitors, and headphones. The person working in the control room communicates with performers, sets up tracks, adjusts sound levels, records performances, and manages the mixing process.

Studio Space

The studio space is designed with soundproofing panels and features an isolation booth, upright piano, group and individual headphone monitoring, and playback loudspeakers. With 24 XLR inputs, 10 auxiliary outputs, and three four-channel headphone amplifiers, the studio allows up to 24 tracks to be recorded and individually monitored in real-time. This setup supports both solo projects and ensemble recordings.

The studio also provides access to a wide range of equipment such as microphones, DI boxes, cables, adapters, headphones, and other recording tools. A full list of available equipment can be found under the Equipment and Software tab.
